Gabriela workshop

This workshop is one of a kind. In guidance of leathercraft artist Maria Nesterenko, creator of IGLÀ you will make leather bag Gabriela using materials provided and your own hands. You will get unique experience how it is constructed and put together. You will learn a new skill and design your own original handmade bag.

Step by step

Gabriela bag is a unique workshop where you can saddle stitch your own leather bag, complete with a smart strap and a customized design. You’ll create everything from scratch, learning the traditional saddle stitching technique and leather crafting skills. By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a beautiful, self-made bag crafted entirely by YOU.

We use premium quality Italian leather to make our bags and accessories in IGLÀ studio. Same quality leather is provided in workshop to make your own bag.

A highlight of the workshop is learning the saddle stitching technique—a traditional Italian method of leather craftsmanship. When done well, saddle-stitched seams can last a lifetime and are easily repairable. To create the Gabriela, it is sewn by hand using two needles, strong thread, and the skill of saddle stitching. You will gain valuable experience in this technique and acquire a new skill to treasure.

After sewing your bag together, you can design its final look. You have the option to add your name, initials, or other personal touches to the leather. You can also choose between silver or gold studs or add fringed leather details.

What do I need to come join?

You don`t need any previous experience in leatherwork. Just come as you are, everything you need is already within you and provided on the spot. Get into the flow, enjoy the process and be amazed how creative and talented you are to be able to learn as you go and bring your original design come to life with your own hands.
